Private ski instruktor:

  • How long are the lessons with a private ski instructor?
    4 hours skiing per day, ½ day = 2 hours (only available in the afternoon)
  • Who is responsible for the allocation of private ski instructors?
    Director Johannes Bischof is responsible for overseeing private ski instructors.
  • How much does a private ski instructor cost?
    Season 2010/11:
    Bookings of 1 - 3 days: € 245,-- for one person
    Bookings of 4 or more consecutive days: € 230,- for one person, 
    Surcharge for each additional person  € 20,-
  • When do the private lessons begin in the morning?
    Guests can decide when to start the sessions
    How long do the lessons last in the afternoon?
    The instruction day ends between 2.30 and 3pm
  • What languages are spoken by the private ski instructors?
    All our teachers and guides speak german and english. In addition, there are several ski instructors who also speak SPANISH, FRENCH and ITALIAN. In some cases, further languages are spoken.


Children:

  • From what age do you accept children?
    Ski school: from 4 ½ years, from the age of 3, children can attend the Mini Club
  • Is lunch included?
    No, lunch is not included in the ski school fees - during the lunch break children are looked after by the ski instructor.
  • What do the children eat for lunch?
    The children decide themselves what they would like to eat, and they also pay themselves. The ski instructor assists in ordering the meals and help with payment.
  • Are children also accompanied when visiting the bathroom?
    Yes, of course the ski instructor will also assist with this.
  • Can I watch the children's skiing lessons?Parents can watch the skiing lessons, but the lessons should not be disrupted; often it is better for the children if the parents are not in the immediate vicinity of the practice area.
  • Where is the assembly point for children?
    In front of the Hotel Arlberg, by the tiled old bridge directly in the village centre
  • Up to what age are child passes valid?
    Child skischool passes are valid from the ages of 4 ½ to 14 years (born 1997 and later).
  • At what age can I join a youth group?
    There are dedicated youth groups from the age of 14, especially during school holidays.
  • What is the name of the head of the children's ski school?
    The children's ski school is led by Oskar Schneider.
  • Who allocates the children's groups?
    Montse and Oskar Schneider
  • When does the children's ski race take place?
    Each Friday, in high season periods with many children's groups the races take place on Thursdays and Fridays.
  • When does the award ceremony for the children's ski race take place?
    At 2.45 pm on the day of the race at the children's assembly point.
  • How much does the children's race cost?
    Participation in the children's ski race is included in the children's ski school fee.
  • Where does the children's ski race take place?
    At the Flühenlift ski lift; the results will be posted in the Internet under the section "Children".
  • From what age can my child learn how to snowboard?
    In the group from the age of 8 years, private lessons are available already from the age of 6 years.
  • Can I start the childen`s course every day?
    Beginner classes start on Sunday and Monday, the minimum group size is four people.
  • Does my child need a crash helmet?
    The ski school recommends all children the wearing of helmets
  • Where is the Mini Club located?
    The Miniclub is located in the old school building, which is situated by the old church.
  • Where can I obtain photos of the children's groups?
    The photos of the children's groups can be viewed and collected at the children´s collecting point at the race ceremony. Photos from the children races also can be downloaded at: race results


Adults:

  • Where is the assembly point for adults?
    In front of the ski school office, at the Schlegelkopf ski lift directly in the village centre.
  • Where is the area for beginners (practice meadow)?
    For children the "KINDERLAND" ("Children's Land") is in the area of the Flühenlift and Schwarzwandlift. The beginners' area for adults is by the Flühenlift.
  • From what age are the senior passes valid?
    From 65 years on, both for men and women.
  • Where does the allocation into groups for adults take place?
    At the ski school assembly point, directly in front of the Schlegelkopf lift station.
  • How do I recognise the group allocator?
    Each of the allocators hold a LIST.
  • How do I recognise my ski group instructor?
    The instructor is next to his group board, which also shows his name.


Ski equipment:

  • Where can I hire skis?
    You can hire the necessary equipment in the sports shops Strolz, Sportalp, Pfefferkorn, and at the Hotel Rote Wand in Zug.
  • Do you also have a ski hire business?
    No, you can hire ski and sport equipment in all sports shops.
  • How long should my skis be?
    This depends on the skiing ability; sports shops offer the best advice on this.


Generals:

  • How can I pay my bill?
    We are happy to accept cash, or you can pay by credit card (Visa or Master-Card) as well EC card in the ski school office.
  • Do I have to buy the ski school pass in advance?
    Yes, by the end of the first day at the latest you need to hand a valid ski school pass to the ski instructor.
  • Do I require an avalanche search probe (beeper)?
    Yes, when skiiing off-piste (away from prepared slopes) such a probe is necessary and is required by ski instructors. The equipment can be hired in sports shops.
  • How long does a week's course last?
    Sunday to Friday; there are no group lessons on Saturdays.
  • Are lessons also held on Saturdays?
    On Saturdays we only offer private lessons, no group lessons.
  • At what time does the allocation into groups take place?
    ½ hour before the start of the course
  • Where can I buy my lift pass?
    At any ski lift teller - the Schlegelkopf ski lift, the Rüfikopfbahn, at the Cable car station Lech-Oberlech.
  • Where is the nearest doctor?
    The medical practice Ärztehaus am Anger has two doctors' offices with house pharmacies. Dr. Rhomberg is located behind the Hotel Monzabon directly in the village centre.
  • Where is the lost & found office?At the Lech citizens' centre at the post office.
  • What are the office hours of the ski school office?
    Sundays to Fridays from 8.30 am to 05.00 pm  Saturdays from 08.30 am to 12 pm and from 02 pm to 06 pm
  • What is the "Aera-Check"?
    An orientation day that provides information about the ski slopes and is designed to help you to get to know the region better - every Sunday at 10.30 am.
  • Can I participate in the Area-Check course if I am a beginner?
    No, intermediate skiing ability is required to participate in the Area-Check.
  • Is there a racing run that can measure speeds?
    Yes, there is a run with speed checks at the Weibermahd ski lift.
  • Where is the cross-country trail?
    The start of the trail is at the Hotel Filomena, and the track leads into the romantic Zug valley.
  • How long is the track, and are there group lessons?
    The track leads into the Zug valley and back: the length is approx. 15 km; cross-country lessons are only available as private lessons in the afternoon.
  • When does the torch race of the Lech Ski School take place?
    This events takes place once a month. The exact dates are announced at short notice.
  • Where does the torch race take place?
    At the Schlegelkopf - it always starts at 9.30 pm.
  • Are there ski huts in the ski area?
    The Lech-Zürs ski area offers a number of beautiful ski huts and many restaurants for your lunch break and aprés ski.
  • Can two people buy a six-day pass and only use it for only three days each?No, this is not possible; each participant requires their own pass, and passes are not transferable.
  • Can I start on a beginners' snowboarding course every day?Beginners' snowboarding courses start every Sunday and Wednesday.
  • Do the ski lifts observe a break for lunch?
    Almost none of the ski lifts, apart from the Flühen and Berghof ski lifts, stop over lunch.


Ski passes:

  • Are ski passes already included in the ski school fees?
    No, the ski passes are not included in the fees and have to be purchased separately.
  • Do I require a ski pass as a beginner?
    A ski pass is in most cases not required on the first day; special beginners' ski lift passes can be purchased on site.
  • From when do I require a ski pass?
    All skiers require a valid ski pass. Special beginners' passes are available for beginners.
  • Where do I find the ski pass centre?
    At the cable car station up to the Rüfikopf.
